Background
Program MA and Ph.D. in History (PMDH), addresses the need for further development and advancement of historical research from northwestern Mexico. This is an institutional effort aimed at broadening and strengthening graduate education provision in the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted by the University Autónoma de Baja California through the Institute of Historical Research and the Faculty of Humanities.


To:
Preferably graduates of degree programs in the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences, seeks to train professionals with domain theory and methodology in historical research, able to convey their results in publications , academic and media forums. The program aims to broaden and enrich the historiographical production from an integrative perspective and cross to contribute to the understanding and explanation of regional processes linked with national and international stages.

Program Objectives
train competent professionals in historical research also able to perform in the field of teaching and dissemination of knowledge in this field. Mainly devoted itself to providing the tools necessary to manage and input from the historiographical field using relevant theoretical and methodological perspectives applied to research. On the other hand, it is proposed to have the qualities to convey their findings in various publications, academic and media forums electronic.

Outcome Profile
PMDH The graduates can perform professionally in research centers, universities and public and private institutions in the areas of research and teaching in history and historiography, or in areas related to social sciences and humanities
have the capacity to the management, conservation and management and administrative archives, for advising, planning and operation of outreach and management cultural, as well as consultancy work in public administration at all three levels, federal, state or municipal.



Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in social science disciplines and humanities
  • minimum average of 80 out of 100, or its equivalent in graduate studies

  • Availability to attend punctually at school the following times: Thursday and Friday from 18:00 to 21:00 and Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00

  • Cover program 80 credits
